One of Britain’s most iconic sports car brands, Lister, has unveiled a new souped-up SUV which boasts a top speed of 200mph.
The luxury sports vehicle, which has been built from the Jaguar F-Pace can do 0-60mph in 3.5 seconds and is expected to be priced at £140,000 off the peg, though that price will possibly seem cheap when purchasers start adding their own personalisation to the vehicle.
The Lister will be revealed in full at the end of September, and the LFP, to give it its full title, is already proving to be popular according to Lister CEO Lawrence Whittaker.
“I am delighted, overwhelmed and gratified by the huge level of interest, excitement and orders our LFT-666 supercar has already generated in just a few months.
"Based on early indications, our new LFP promises to repeat the success of the LFT-666, and I really can’t wait to reveal the world’s fastest SUV quite soon.
"We kicked-off 2018 where we left 2017, as the UK’s fastest-growing company in the competitive motor industry business sector, according to leading independent financial analysis specialists, Plimsoll.
"Over the past six months the Lister Motor Company has been working very hard, developing our Tuning Division, starting with modifying the Jaguar F-Type, the Lister LFT-666, and setting up our new headquarters in Lancashire.
"The imminent release of our new monster-killer LFP promises to see this healthy situation continue for the remainder of this year, and beyond."
A top-end Jaguar F-Pace can be bought for under £75,000, but is relatively slow off the blocks with 0-60mph in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 176mph.
Lister were founded by Brian Lister in 1954 and have built a reputation on producing variants of Jaguar’s with the Lister Storm perhaps the most famous example.
