Wed 14th Feb 2018

BMW’s super sporty SUV, the X4, is set for a revamp this coming summer, and following the success of the previous model it is a highly anticipated release for the German manufacturer.

Launched in 2014, the original model sold 200,000 globally and with a promise of a bigger and more technically specced up model, the new X4, could be snapped up by many UK customers with a starting price from £43,000.

With BMW’s ConnectedDrive installed, and a key fob that comes with it’s own digital touchscreen, this X4 is the highest  of high-tec. So whether you’ve got Apple, Android, Google or even Amazon Alexa, your motor will be ultra-connected to your own personal network.

The tech journey continues with active cruise control, lane assist, crossing traffic warnings and parking assistance. There is also plenty to keep you comfortable with heated and cooled seats and a three-zone climate control system.

Whilst the kidney grille at the front does not move too far away from the original look and feel, it’s at the back that we see big changes – in essence, the X4 has had a renovated rear-end job. This bigger butt gives this Beemer extra legroom for rear passengers and additional boot capacity as well, to the tune of 525 litres.

For those in the drivers seat, the stats are equally impressive. Putting your foot on the power will bring you from 0-62mph in less than five seconds, and a top speed of 155mph, which is pacey for an SUV.

Watch out for the new X4 to be unveiled at the forthcoming Geneva Motor Show.
