Clio Claims First Time Drivers Award

Newly qualified drivers looking for a suitable car to get on the road with should look no further than Renault’s supermini, the Clio according to an influential learner driver blog.

The FirstCar website looks at the many different aspects of being a new driver on the roads, offering advice and guidance to those taking their first steps in motoring. The FirstCar panel and a combination 38,000 votes have now decided the best new driver products and services in a number of categories, with the Renault Clio claiming the big award as Car of the Year.

“The Clio has excellent safety standards, including a five-star Euro NCAP rating and 96% adult occupant score. In fact, the Clio was joint safest in its class during the 2019 tests, sharing the top spot with the Audi A1,” said the FirstCar website. “In addition to occupant safety, this car has many driver assistance systems as standard, including Active Emergency Braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, even on the entry-level Play model. The standard tech is pretty impressive too, with DAB radio and Bluetooth on all models.”
