The brand behind the Duster and Sandero is celebrating a landmark moment after announcing that they have sold their 200,000th vehicle in the UK market.

Dacia, a sub-brand of Renault, were launched in 2013 with the aforementioned Sandero and Duster providing almost unrivalled value to car buyers looking at the budget end of the market. In those eight years since launch, Dacia have rightfully earned a reputation for offering practical and robust cars at a ‘shockingly affordable price’ according to the company’s own marketing spiel.

Building on the success of their early models, Dacia went on to launch the Logan MCV and more recently the Sandero Stepway, which now makes up more than 60 per cent of the company’s sales. It will be no surprise that the compact SUV was the car which was sold to reach the 200k landmark.

We celebrated 100,000 Dacia sales four years after launching in the UK, and four years later we’ve sold another 100,000,” said Luke Broad, Head of Sales at Dacia IK. We’ve been keeping up the momentum, all while continuing to provide UK customers with the most affordable cars on the market. We’re thrilled that our customers – both new and existing – trust Dacia in providing unrivalled value for money, practicality and low running costs.”

In announcing the news, Dacia also revealed which colours had been the most popular, with Glacier White, Metallic Pearl Black and Slate Grey the top three finishes.
