Find Out Why This Car Is In Hot Demand This Year

A European classic is proving to be as popular as ever on the forecourts of Britain, proving to be the fastest selling second-hand car of the year.

The Volkswagen Polo is no stranger to the top selling lists in the UK market, but it is used to playing second fiddle to Ford’s leaders, the Fiesta and the Focus. But with an average of just 39 days on the second-hand market, the German hatchback is the hottest used car of 2019 so far.

The Fiesta comes in second place with 42 of advertising time before being snapped up while Peugeot are making inroads with just 42 days for their relatively new 2008.

The Ford Focus and Kuga make up the top five.

James Fairclough, chief executive of AA Cars, said: “The fastest-selling cars list is a great indication of how the used car market continues to provide a huge range of makes and models, some of which were only introduced in the past six or seven years.

“The Vauxhall Mokka, Peugeot 2008 and Peugeot 208 for instance, were only released relatively recently, meaning second-hand buyers are enjoying the benefits of much newer cars without the same price tag as a brand new vehicle.

“The availability of car finance has made it easier for drivers to pay for their cars, and has meant they have been able to upgrade to these nearly-new models.

“It comes as no surprise that there is a strong correlation between the fastest-selling and most popular vehicles.”
