One of the world’s biggest supercar brands, Lamborghini, is making bold claims to be the first to integrate Amazon Alexa into its in-car entertainment system.
While BMW and Mercedes may rebuff the claims, due to them employing the same Amazon voice control technology to turn on heating systems, it is Lamborghini owners who will be the first to say ‘Hey Alexa…’ followed by a command.
And the voice commands for Lamborghini will step up a level with drivers able to voice control navigation, heating, lighting and in what might be a real first, opening a garage door by connecting it to your smart home features.
Ned Curic, vice president of Alexa Auto at Amazon, said: “Our vision is for Alexa to become a natural, intuitive part of the driving experience, and Lamborghini has embraced that by integrating Alexa directly into its onboard infotainment systems.
“The integration will enable Lamborghini owners to enjoy the convenience of an intelligent voice service while focusing on the joy of the Lamborghini driving experience, and we expect it to set a new standard for in-car voice experiences when it ships this year.”
It’s expected that the Alexa will be installed into the all-new Huracan Evo and Spyder Convertible which were launched last year.
And in case Alexa doesn’t know the answer, these cars can reach 202mph!
