Is This The Most Innovative Korean Car Yet?

Thu 15th Feb 2018

Fans of the Kia will be looking forward to the launch of the new Kia Ceed at the forthcoming Geneva Motor Show. It’s been described by the Korean manufacturer as one of the ‘most innovative cars in its class.’

High expectations indeed, especially when you consider the family hatch market includes the likes of the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf, both of which are popular across Europe.

Kia are expected to unveil two body styles in Geneva, a five door hatch and also an estate, whilst their top of the range model will be saved for launch in 2019.

Kia Motors Europe CEO Michael Cole says: “Its new engines and suspension will make it more enjoyable and engaging to drive, and will continue to offer the same high quality that customers expect from Kia.”

Designed at Kia’s European design centre in Frankfurt, Germany, the new Ceed has been built with European roads in mind and will be both wider and lower than its predecessor. The engine range will include a 1.4 T-GDi petrol engine and an efficient 1.6 diesel.

UK drivers will have to wait a little while longer to see the Ceed on their driveways, it won’t be launched on these shores till later in the year.
