New Look For Nissan

It’s a big week for Nissan after they unveiled a new electric vehicle and with it a bright new emblem which is intended to herald a new future for the Japanese company.

It is hoped that the new logo will help put behind them a troubling period for the global automotive brand, following some poor financials and the reputation damage caused by the Carlos Ghosn scandal.

The rebrand was unveiled on the launch of the company’s first all-electric crossover SUV, the Ariya, a vehicle which will be a ‘showcase for Nissan’s new era of excitement and design.’ The Japanese firm are planning to launch 12 new models in the next 18 months, all of which will be resplendent in the new logo. With the hope of selling more than EVs and hybrids by the end of 2023, Nissan are also making bold predictions on the future of automated technology, suggesting that they will have the self-driving tech in 20 models, across 20 markets and hope to have sold 1.5 vehicles equipped with the smarts.

“We created the Nissan Ariya as an answer to the aspirations and practical needs of today’s customers,” said Nissan CEO Makoto Uchida. “Combining our strengths in EVs and crossovers, it’s a showcase for Nissan’s new era of excitement and design.

“The Nissan Ariya opens a new chapter in our history as we begin our journey of transformation in our business, in our products, and in our culture,” Uchida said. “It defines what matters to Nissan, represents what we stand for, and embodies the essence of who we are: a passionate, innovative challenger.”
