Nissan Best For Features In Major Awards Win

Thu 31st May 2018

Nissan cars are the best for additional features such as sat-nav, smartphone integration and air-conditioning, according to a new survey from a major automotive publisher.

Auto Trader has published its list of New Car Awards winners this week, following a survey of more than 40,000 car owners. The survey asked drivers to rate their cars on 16 key areas and Nissan came out top when it comes to in-car features.

In the only category which gives the prize to a brand, rather than a model, Nissan beat both Kia and Skoda to the award in the New Car Awards.

Value for money, with no huge costs for the features, seemed to be a popular reason for the win, with one owner saying: “You get a lot of accessories included in the price without having to pay for each item as an extra that adds thousands to the initial cost. Love the heated seat, the blind spot assistant, the cameras, all the safety features it has, too many to mention. Best car we have ever bought that has everything one needs without the additional costs.”

Auto Trader’s Road Test Editor, Ivan Aistrop, said: “Whether it’s your stereo or your sat-nav, your air-con or your Isofix, certain features are super-important to a lot of new car buyers. And hats off to Nissan on being voted the winner of this award. It shows that not only are all the essential bits and pieces provided on the firm’s cars, but these features are also proving effective and easy to use for owners.”

In other categories, Skoda won the overall Car of the Year award for the Octavia, the Czech brand also winning Best Family Car for the Superb. The Ford Kuga was voted Best Car for City Driving, while at the other end of the driving spectrum the Hyundai Tucson was winner of the Best Car for Long Distances prize.

The Kia Rio scooped two awards, one for Best Value New Car and another for Best Car for New Drivers.
