Nissan Unveils Latest Compact Van

Sat 20th Aug 2022

Determined to offer British businesses an affordable, economical and sustainable compact van, Nissan have unveiled their all-new Townstar. The new model is seen as the successor to the e-NV200, and has been designed to future-proof business operations and accelerate the move towards electrification. Its appeal, however, will be the dual, highly advanced powertrain options - one petrol and one fully electric, combined with the latest driving technology.

Prices begin at £29,945* for a short-wheelbase Townstar equipped with a 45kWh battery, providing up to 183 miles WLTP or up to 269 miles in city driving on a single charge.

Townstar models are available with either a refined 1.3-litre TCe petrol engine or a Euro 6d-Full emissions compliant 130HP 240Nm petrol engine, providing power and efficiency. Starting at £19,475, petrol Townstars are available.

Nissan's Townstar van lineup features 20+ technologies, making it the most advanced vehicle in its class. Intelligent Emergency Braking, Hands-Free Parking, Intelligent Cruise Control, and Around View Monitor (AVM), among other safety features, are all included, making Nissan the leader in its category.

There are four well-equipped trim levels to choose from: Visia, which has everything you need to get started; Acenta, which includes additional professional amenities; Tekna, which includes driver comfort and exterior styling; and Tekna+, which includes the newest technology in addition to enhanced driver assistance.

Townstar delivers a hefty payload of up to 600kg (SWB) or 800kg (LWB). The braked towing capacity is 1,500kg in addition to that.

“We’re delighted to be providing more information about all-new Townstar as its arrival in the UK approaches,” said Allan Newman, LCV product manager at Nissan GB. “Offering two efficient powertrain solutions, practical design and unique Nissan technologies, it is comprehensively equipped to meet customers’ ever-changing needs.

“With tougher emissions standards, urban access restrictions, and ever-increasing demand for last-mile delivery, businesses large and small need to find effective and sustainable solutions to remain competitive and optimise their operations. We’re confident Townstar will meet their every need.”
