Peugeot Raise Climate Awareness By Joining Pumpkin Trail

Tue 26th Oct 2021

To mark Peugeot’s ongoing green revolution with the introduction of their e-208 models, the French car brand have been invited to participate in one of the UK’s most famous pumpkin trails.

The Peugeot e-208 will feature in a creative scene around the theme of climate change at this year’s Hebden Bridge Great Pumpkin Trail, the trail will also feature a miniature Greta Thunberg, a life-sized Cheetah and also some pumpkins planting trees. The green theme has been inspired by next month’s COP26 summit where global leaders will meet in Scotland to agree ways in how the world can become Net Zero by 2050.

The UK is already committed to banning new petrol and diesel cars by 2030, and the e-208 all-electric is a perfect response to that call, featuring a 50kWh battery connected to a 100kW electric motor. The e-208 has a range of 217 miles from a single charge and with rapid charging can achieve 80 per cent of charge in just 30 minutes.

“The Town Council is addressing the need to make strides towards a more sustainable future, and the Pumpkin Trail has been a fantastic opportunity to spread the message about how the Town Council is responding and importantly, what we as individuals can do to reduce our own carbon footprint within the community,” said Emma Green from Hebden Royd Town Council. “The use of electric vehicles is one of the many green choices that consumers can make, and we hope that the Pumpkin Trail will encourage visitors to research further.”

Hebden Bridge has a long history of supporting environmental campaigns, with the residents of the popular tourist town seen to have progressive views on sustainable issues such as planting trees and reducing plastic waste.

“We were really pleased to have been asked to take part in this year’s Great Pumpkin Trail and it was great to see the PEUGEOT e-208 received so well among the other amazing installations across the town,” said Julie David, Managing Director of Peugeot UK. “I admire the work that the Hebden Bridge community has undertaken to raise awareness around the issues of climate change, and the Pumpkin Trail is a brilliant approach to raise awareness in a way that is creative and appealing to all audiences.”
