There will be no more excuses for cold pizza delivery after Toyota unveiled a truck which comes complete with its own pizza oven!

The Toyota Tundra PIE Pro is currently appearing at the 2018 Speciality Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show and promises to take the party wherever it goes with a mobile pizza factory.

Toyota’s US based Motorsports Technical Center have developed the the Tundra PIE Pro, in partnership with Pizza Hut and the oven which is named The Kitchen includes a refrigerator, a pair of computer-guided robotic arms and a portable conveyor oven.

Capable of baking a pizza from start to finish in seven minutes, the robotic arm first removes the pizza from the refrigerator and then places it on the conveyor before closing the fridge door. The pizza then passes through the high-speed ventless oven before being collected by the second robotic arm, sliced into six identical pieces, boxed and then delivered to a customer waiting ont the side of the vehicle.

The truck comes with Toyota’s very latest hydrogen fuel-cell electric power unit, borrowed from the groundbreaking Mirai, which means that the only by-products of the Tundra are vapor and delicious pizza.

“As the flagship Toyota truck, the Tundra is a workhorse in the truest sense,” said Ed Laukes, Group Vice President - Toyota Division Marketing. “Its great strengths are its extreme capability and eminent versatility, and what better way to illustrate that than by turning it into something completely unique—a hydrogen fuel cell electric-powered, pizza-making robotic vehicle!”

Toyota boasts that the Tundra is carbon neutral, though there may be carbon based compounds on the pizza itself!
