Hollywood has provided years of amazing motors on the silver screen, but which is the best movie car of all time according to a recent poll?
According to research conducted by the Discovery Channel to help launch their Wheeler Dealers: Dream Car series, the name Bond, James Bond dominates the top 20 of favourite cars in the UK.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, James Bond’s iconic motors take up three spots in the top ten, with the Aston Martin DB10 from Spectre taking top spot with 25 per cent of the vote. The DB5 from Goldfinger was next on the list, whilst 007’s submarine Lotus from The Spy Who Loved Me came in seventh overall.
It’s not all about speed or style for the British public, they have fallen in love with some not-so-luxurious cars with Mr Bean’s Mini, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and even The Ghostbusters Hearse all making the list.
One car which did not make the list was the famous Batmobile, which considering some of the motors further down the list, might be something of an oversight. However there are plenty of classic car brands on show with Style and Personality rated as the key reasons for choosing their dream car.
“This research reveals the strength of feeling that exists for Brits about their cars,” said a spokesperson for Discovery, which commissioned the study to mark the launch of Wheeler Dealers: Dream Car,” said a spokesman for the channel.
“Almost half of the nation sometimes loves their car more than their other half, yet many are hugely embarrassed by the state of their motors.”
