A luxury kitted-out piece of comic folklore will go under the auctioneer’s hammer later this month, with one hitch… if it wasn’t for those pesky kids!!!
The Mystery Machine, which was made famous in the Scooby Doo cartoons is available in the UK and comes with a range of luxury options, including heated seats, a 55-inch Sony plasma TV and a range of video game consoles. The customised Volkswagen Crafter will be auctioned with starting bids of £30,000, with just a couple of former owners, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik, formerly of teen boy-band, One Direction.
The duo had the van specially customised for their 2013 tour, and the van comes with extras such as CCTV, a PA system and even water jets, which were all used to keep away over-exuberant fans.
The van was styled by famous North London mechanic, Yianni Charalambous, whose list of celebrity clients include a whole host of Premier League footballers, magician Dynamo and Harry Potter actor Rubert Grint.
The Mystery Machine has previously been auctioned at a silent auction but is back on the market, with opening bids said to be in the region of £30,000.
Gary Dunne, Classic Car Auctions manager, said: “We have really got some cracking lots for our auction in a few weeks time,” said Gary Dunne, Classic Car Auctions auction manager.
“Again we have been chosen to auction some very significant cars from the world of entertainment and they will certainly have loads of interest.”
