Swedish car manufacturer, Volvo, have built a specially adapted SUV which comes with a number of additional extras that James Bond would be proud of.
The XC90 Armoured has been put together by Volvo’s Special Vehicles unit and as well as being able to cope with gunfire and explosions, the VIP vehicle also comes with an escape route in the middle of the back seat, should the passenger feel they need to make a quick escape in emergency.
The XC90 Armoured weighs a hefty 4.5 tonnes, possibly due to the 10mm-thick reinforced steel and 50mm bullet-proof windows. The specially armoured car also has plenty to keep danger at bay, with a ear-shattering horn and fire suppresson system under the bonnet to put out any unexpected fires.
Stephan Green, marketing director at Volvo Cars Special Vehicles, said: "Production is classified, with stringent procedures and oversight in place in order to attain the stipulated ballistic requirements.
"Production is carried out with extreme diligence, which is imperative in order to fulfill the exceptionally high requirements placed on this class of security product.
"We strive to ensure that the car retains its properties despite the extensive armouring.
"The armour is fitted discreetly to make the car barely distinguishable from a standard XC90.
"Every customer also has their own unique requirements, which we satisfy by means of customised production."
Though the XC90 Armoured may look very much like the standard model, the muscled-up version costs a lot more, a price tag of £450,000 ensuring that VIPs will travelling around in it.
