The Cars That Money Can’t Buy – Fiat Eye

Sun 24th Jun 2018

Sometimes your wallet won’t stretch to purchasing your dream motor. But don’t worry too much, there are some cars that even the biggest bank balances can’t buy, the dream cars that will forever remain a dream. These are the concept cars that never go into production.

Fiat Eye
According to website tuvie.com, the Fiat Eye was ‘developed in order to optimize space, and facilitating individual displacement in large cities.’ Which to those of us on this planet is a long-winded way of saying that the car is small, very small.

Whether the optimization of space goes so far as to take into account that this very tiny Fiat can only car one passenger is not documented, however, this vehicle has a lot more going for it other than its miniscule size.

Designed by Dinard da Mata, a man who has previously designed a Fluid Wearable SmartPhone, the Eye features elliptical wheels, which the tires rotate around in a synchronized treadmill rotation, allowing the Eye to take on less conventional surfaces.

The most striking aspect of the Eye from the Brazilian designer, da Mata though, is the lack of a steering wheel, not needed because the Eye is driven by voice-control. This is a concept vehicle, so no actual detail on the technology behind that is required.

The Fiat Eye, like most concept cars to hit the the futuristic forecourts these days, had plenty of green credentials, so it goes without saying that this concept comes with electric propulsion.

Top speed? Unknown, but entry to the Eye comes with a jet-fighter style opening, so there is plenty of Top Gun about it - even if the designer does confess that the Eye is inspired by the more sedate Segway!

No Fiat Eye available at CarSupermarket.com, but we do have the next best thing, the Fiat 500, one of our most popular vehicles ever!
