The Cars That Money Can’t Buy – Nissan IDx

Thu 22nd Feb 2018

Sometimes your chequebook won’t stretch to purchasing your dream motor. But don’t worry too much, there are some cars that even the biggest bank balances can’t buy, the dream cars that will forever remain a dream. These are the concept cars that never get made.

Nissan IDx
When Nissan introduced the IDx concept car on home soil at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show they had their eye on one particular group of car fans – video gamers.

RWD Tuners are the hot craze and definitely aimed at the younger end of the market, who seem to crave souped-up, big rear drives. Nissan’s is supposedly inspired by the Datsun 510, though the team behind the classic Datsun could never have dreamed of side-view mirrors, that aren’t actually mirrors, but are mini-screens with images provided by a camera.

With an interior supposedly fashioned from the look of a driving simulator, there is nothing at all conventional about the IDx, which takes its name from the simple term of Identification.

There’s no news of a production model, though critical reception, like most concept cars is demanding Nissan get the factory fires lit and ready to start sending them out to the public.
