Sometimes your chequebook won’t stretch to purchasing your dream motor. But don’t worry too much, there are some cars that even the biggest bank balances can’t buy, the dream cars that will forever remain a dream. These are the concept cars that never get made.
Volkswagen Bulli
Also known as the Volkswagen Microbus, this VW concept was first presented at the 2001 North American International Auto Show.
A redesign of the original microbus which first went into production by the German manufacturer in 1949, the Bulli was a vehicle that promised technology and plenty of it.
Initially, we were actually due to see the new-look Microbus put into production, with VW’s Hannover plant all set to start building the beautiful beasts back in the summer of 2003. But for reasons unknown, the project was deferred indefinitely in 2005 and the void would be filled with a VW Transporter Multivan, in Europe at the very least.
The Bulli got its first run out at the Geneva Motor Show in 2011, which was a smaller version of the microbus and rumours persist that this tiny little VW concept might actually see the light of day.
We await with baited breath.
