Audi Q3
Audi’s subcompact crossover SUV, the Q3 was designed by Julian Hoenig and was first seen at the 2007 Shanghai Motor Show.
It took four years to get into production and was launched on the same platform as Volkswagen’s Golf and Tiguan.
Built at the SEAT factory in Martorell, Spain, with an annual production target of 100,000 units, the Audi Q3 is also built in Changchun, China.
Audi pulled out all the stops when launching the Q3, with extensive marketing stunts, the highlight of which was its own Q3 Urban Music Festival in Taiwan.
After three years of the original design, the Q3 got a reboot in 2014, which included minor cosmetic surgery and the German manufacturer has continued to tweak and improve its design as it aims to claim a chunk of the growing SUV market.
The Audi Q3 is a desirable and capable contender that fails to engage its driver, which ultimately, leaves it trailing the BMW X1 and the Range Rover Evoque. 3.5/5 – Autocar
Compact, good to drive and inexpensive to run, the Audi Q3 deserves to be near the top of your small SUV shopping list. 4/5 – What Car?
The engines are lovely and so is the cabin. 3.5/5 – TopGear
Assembly – Martorell, Spain
