With more than half a million Evoque’s sold since launch in 2011, Land Rover’s Range Rover Evoque, to give it its full title has certainly caught the imagination of the SUV loving driving public.
Designed by Gerry McGovern, the Evoque ‘ensures practicality whilst retaining the instantly recognisable design cues’ according to Land Rover’s own website promotion. The Range Rover Evoque is the smallest, lightest and most effecient Range Rover ever and comes with a host of plaudits. In 2011 it was named Car of the Year by Top Gear and also claimed the SUV of the Year and had the distinction of being named ‘Jeremy’s Car of the Year’. In the same year, Auto Express named it their Car of the Year and by 2012 it had picked up the World Design Car of the Year and also the Women’s Overall World Car of the Year.
Land Rover looked to improve on that early success by updating the Range Rover Evoque in 2014, adding plenty more technology smarts to the luxurious design. In its current form, the Range Rover Evoque comes in an standard SE, HSE, Autobiography and from 2017 a Convertible edition.

The Range Rover Evoque’s global popularity courted controversy in 2014, when a Chinese automotive company named Landwind, revealed their own Landwind X7, which shared many similarities with the Evoque. JLR tried to get its production stopped, but failed and you can now purchase a counterfeit Evoque in China!
