Mini Hatchback
The Mini hatchback was the first model of the new-look, new generation of Mini’s which arose like a phoenix from the flames from the sad demise of the classic British style Mini.

Introduced in 2001, it was available in Cooper, Cooper S and One variations at launch – the Cooper names deriving from the John Cooper and Cooper Car company which had long been associated with the racing designs of the classic.

Produced originally in Plant Oxford in Cowley and since 2014 at VDL Nedcar in Born, Holland. The second generation was launched in 2006 and was designed to be more cost-effective and fuel-efficient. A third generation arrived in 2014.

In its first 10 years of production the Mini sold 2.5 million worldwide and went on to win a host of awards, including the North American Car of the Year in 2003
