Nissan Note
The Nissan Note has proven to be one of the Japanese manufacturer’s most enduring and popular vehicles since being unveiled as a concept car at the Paris Motor Show back in 2004.
The original concept was for a five-door hatchback, which borrowed many of the styling elements from the Qashqai and the Murano. Also known as the Nissan Tone, the European model was first seen at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2005 and went on sale in the UK after being built at Nissan’s Sunderland plant.
Pitched as a serious competitor to Vauxhall’s Meriva and Citreon’s C3 Picasso, it was a direct successor to Nissan’s own Almera. Though the Note had a design update in 2005, including a limited edition Adidas version, it wasn’t until 2012 that we saw the Note Mk2.
To this day, the Note remains a popular hatchback across Asia and the Americas, though production of the Note actually stopped in the UK, as the Sunderland factory put more focus on the Qashqai.
It still claims highly competitive practicality but has adopted a much more typical supermini body. 4/5 – Autocar
