It’s a Skoda, but not as we know it. The new-look Skoda Octavia vRS promises to seduce you in a way that you might never have expected. A seductive Skoda? How can the Czech manufacturer make us fall in love once again with their most successful model?
Almost 40% of Skoda’s sales are an Octavia, so we think it only right that their new sexier vRS 245 gets the Take-Five treatment, with the five most popular reviews on the web giving us an idea of what to expect form the 2018 edition.
Guardian.com says: “This new Skoda is fast, dependable, exciting and brilliant value – who wouldn’t want to date its owner?”
Whatcar.com says: “Compared with its closest rivals the vRS is competitively priced, undercutting cars such as the Golf GTI, M135i and Honda Civic Type R. As such, it makes sense to keep the vRS as cheap as possible – going for the faster 242bhp petrol or all-wheel drive diesel pushes the price beyond sense. Having said that, if you have the budget for it and want the best-driving Octavia vRS, you won’t be disappointed.”
Autocar.co.uk says: “If you rank value for money, practicality and point-to-point pace above all else, you need look no further. If you’re after a more engaging package, the vRS can’t quite challenge for class honours.”
Telegraph.co.uk says: “If the formula hasn’t changed, the execution has certainly improved. As with all modern Octavias the latest vRS feels like a high-quality product and drives with a precision lacking in those earlier cars. It’s also absolutely massive inside, with room for adults to stretch out in the back and a vast boot regardless of whether you opt for the hatchback or estate.”
Evo.co.uk says: “The practical Czech hatchback has more than just a hint of sportiness in vRS 245 guise”
