The Take-Five Review – Vauxhall Insignia GSi 2018

Mon 19th Feb 2018

Vauxhall’s Insignia range has been one of the UK’s most popular and versatile vehicles of the past decade, but with the motor manufacturer being bought out by French car giant PSA, its days may be numbered. So is the Insignia going to go out with a bang?

The three letters GSi have long been associated with Vauxhall’s high-performance models and perhaps for one last time, we are getting a look at what Vauxhall can do at this end of the market.

In our latest Take-Five review we look at the five most popular reviews of the Vauxhall Insignia GSi 2018 model.

Autoexpress.co.uk says: “There’s a lot to like about the Insignia GSi, although it feels like more of a GT than a direct replacement for the old VXR model.”

Autocar.co.uk says: “Despite Vauxhall purporting this to be a car you could enjoy at the race track, the reality is that no Insignia GSi will likely ever see one.”

Whatcar.com says:  “Hang on, what’s this: a large Vauxhall with more than 200bhp, capable of nearly 150mph and 0-60mph in around 7.5sec? Yes, the sporty GSi moniker is back, on the new Vauxhall Insignia 2.0 GSi.”

Evo.co.uk says: “Both engine options are connected to an eight-speed automatic gearbox feeding an all-wheel-drive system featuring a ‘twinster’ rear differential, giving the GSi real torque-vectoring capability, just like a Focus RS.”

Carmagazine.co.uk says: “It’s mostly business as usual inside, but some sporty additions help set the GSI apart. ‘AGR-certified’ leather sports seats with embossed GSi emblems feature, as do aluminium pedals.”

CarSupermarket.com has more than 40 Insignia's to choose from. All can be delivered to your door from just £141 per month.
