What Car Brand Gives You Most Satisfaction?

Wed 22nd Dec 2021

A customer satisfaction survey by one of the UK’s leading consumer motoring blogs has revealed which car brand gives buyers most satisfaction.

The Honest John Satisfaction Index 2021 asked motorists to rate their vehicles in a number of areas, including fuel economy, practicality, and safety, as well build quality, reliability and comfort.

Unsurprisingly, at a time when the cost of owning a car is being driven higher and higher by spiraling fuel costs, it was actually a budget brand which came top of the report, with Dacia taking the title of most satisfying car brand.

Dacia scored an impressive 91.6 per cent satisfaction rating, edging out luxury brand Lexus (90.6%) to the No.1 spot. Hyundai (89.7%), Kia (89.6%) and MG (89.4%) completed the top five of the index.

“What a tremendous recognition for Dacia that manufacturing a low-cost car doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice any of the things that make your customers happy,” said Dan Powell, senior editor of Honest John.

“Cheap does mean cheerful, with readers praising Dacia models for their value, comfort and reliability. The Romanian manufacturer is part of the Renault family and that quality comes through in its high scores for satisfaction and reliability.”

In addition to brands, the consumer survey also rated the top models, with the Hyundai Ioniq named as the best car overall with a satisfaction rating of 95.7 per cent, the Volkswagen T-Roc (93.7%) and Mazda CX-5 (93%) complete the top three.

“This is a massive piece of research, a real barometer of what the nation thinks of its cars, with more than 5,000 Honest John readers taking part,” Powell added.

“It is also a clear indicator of the rise and rise of electric and hybrid vehicles that the Hyundai Ioniq was crowned the most satisfying car for the second year in a row.”
