David Hasselhoff, the man who famously played Michael Knight in the iconic 80s tv show, Knight Rider, is auctioning off a wide range of his personal memorabilia, including his amazing K.I.T.T. car.

The custom made black ‘82 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is quite possibly the most famous TV car ever, starring alongside ‘The Hoff’ in the US hit show for four years between 1982 and 1986.

The car is being auctioned by a California auction site, alongside 150 other items, with the reserve on the highly-prized K.I.T.T. set at $500,000. Bidding has already reached an impressive $375,000 and if the final bid exceeds 25 per cent of the reserve on January 23rd, Hasselhoff has promised to personally deliver the car himself.

Typically categorised as a Muscle Car, Pontiac produced the Firebird for 35 years, Michael Knight's was one of the third generation Firebirds, built with a Chevrolet engine. Pontiac’s third generation came with a much more aerodynamic body and was styled with futuristic concealed pop-up headlights.

The Firebird used on the Knight Rider TV series came with a range of additional extras including an LED dashboard, handlebar steering wheel and the legendary red lights. It’s not known where the Knight Industries Three Thousand will have its own voice to talk to the driver.

Amongst the many other items which Hasslehoff is auctioning is two other cars, a Mercedes-Benz SL190 and a personally autographed pedal Knight Rider for children.
