Debunking common EV myths: separating fact from fiction

Research from Zapmap has estimated that there are now more than 1.4 million full EVs in the UK, as of February 2025. This means that the share of full EVs on UK roads has risen to 4.15%.

If we include PHEVs in these figures, at the end of 2024, plug-in cars made up nearly 6.5% of all registered in the UK.

Naturally with any new technology, EVs have their fans, and also their detractors, with social media littered with misinformation in an effort to discourage people from choosing an EV as their next car.
