What’s Not Covered

We aim to cover as much as possible, but some things are not included in the CarSupermarket.com Standard 12 Month Warranty.

Wear and Tear: Over time, parts naturally wear out. If your car’s had a lot of miles on it, we will not cover the gradual breakdown of components unless it’s less than 6 years old or has under 60,000 miles.

Consumables: Items that need regular replacement, such as tyres, brake pads, wiper blades, light bulbs, and exhaust systems.

Accidents or Environmental Damage: Damage caused by collision, fire, flood, or other environmental issues.

Neglect or Incorrect Maintenance: Breakdowns caused by poor maintenance or the use of the wrong parts.

Electric Vehicle Battery Degradation: Normal battery wear in electric vehicles; the warranty only covers faults, not natural loss of capacity.

Consequential damage: This warranty excludes consequential damage arising from the failure of any covered parts, damage caused by another part to any other component, and any damage a non-covered component causes to a covered component

Cars Covered by This Warranty

You can get cover if, on the start date:

You are residing within the Territorial Limits (UK, Isle of Man, or Channel Islands) and your vehicle is being used for social, domestic, or pleasure purposes, Class 1 business use (driving to and from your place of work), or Class 2 light business use (excluding commercial travelling).

Vehicles must meet the age and mileage limits for the warranty to apply to wear and tear claims. Cars should generally be less than 6 years old and have fewer than 60,000 miles at the time of purchase.

Vehicles that are customised or modified, motorcycles, scooters, three-wheeled vehicles, kit cars, quad bikes, motor homes, light commercial or delivery vehicles, panel vans, or vehicles over 3,500kg are not eligible. Vehicles used for hire or reward, courier work, driving schools, rallies, speed testing, 4x4 off-roading, racing, competitions, or trials are also not eligible.

This warranty is intended for vehicles used responsibly and maintained according to the manufacturer’s service schedule. Any use outside of the permitted purposes may invalidate your eligibility.

How To Make a Claim

Call the store where you collected the car. Contact numbers are in the table below.

All repairs must be approved and reported within 14 days of the fault occurring.

It’s best to use your supplying store or another CarSupermarket.com store, as we can settle costs directly. If using another repairer, follow the claims process, keep the invoice, and you may need to pay first and claim reimbursement.

Labour is covered up to £60/hr plus VAT. Diagnostic checks are covered only if the claim is within 90 days of the invoice. Each claim is limited to £2,000.

Your vehicle must be fully serviced in line with the manufacturer’s schedule by a VAT-registered repairer.
